-Ph.D., Geological Engineering (Geomechanics) , Northeastern University, China
-M.S., Engineering Mechanics (Geomechanics) , Northeastern University, China
-B. S., Engineering Physics, (Rock Physics and Geophysics), Chongqing University, China

Research Interests:
Dr. Liu has over 15 years research experience in nonlinear constitutive modeling of rock deformation and failure, multi-phases fluid flow modeling in porous media and fractured reservoir, especially focused on the nonlinear large deformation finite element simulation in geo-mechanics and novel finite volume method development for complex geometrical reservoir simulation. These researches were financially supported by China and USA NSF and DOE Funds. He also has over 10 years practical working experience in:

-Geostatistics, Risk Analysis and History Matching of Reservoir Simulation Forecast;

-Reservoir Geo-Mechanics and Modeling: ( Basin modeling, Fracture and Fault Analysis, Stress and Crust Deformation Modeling, Reservoir Compaction and Subsidence modeling);

-Borehole Geo-mechanics Simulation and Analysis: (Borehole Stability, Sand production, Hydraulic Fracture, Casing and Cement Design).
